Glasfryn Project

Resemblance contains a selection of prose-pieces written over twenty years or so, some being published here for the first time. Most are about literature, but some are about much more than literature, using certain texts or themes as touchstones and jumping off points for free-wheeling thought experiments. The spirit is improvisatory, the subject matter as varied as the original occasions for writing, switching from speculations about ghosts, hospitals, myths and rituals, to critical explorations of the work of writers as different as Ezra Pound, Basil Bunting, Robert Minhinnick, Pierre Joris, Maurice Blanchot and William Wordsworth. Not forgetting a classic literary tourist’s less-than-classic encounter with a power-hosed Paris.
