‘floss’ by Sarah Crewe

floss is an exploration of working class feminist psychogeography, via flick, a woman thing and a phantom dog named floss. The poems explore sites of erasure and loss in Central and North Liverpool, and combine urban walking through various towns and cities with family history, gendered perspectives and experimental poetics. It is the author’s first full collection of poems.

“This is a punk prayer to raise the roof of the Metropolitan Cathedral, a hymn in celebration & solidarity to generations of working class (re)sisters. Scintillating as sparing, floss spares no-one and nothing from her sharp gaze and the glitter of her word hoard. What a rush, along these streets (and the beaches beneath) & into the heart of it.”
