Lee Duggan\u2019s Residential Poems are migratory and expansive, roaming between north Wales and fragmentary cities, dissolving the boundaries between spaces and species with their own wild music. A charged attention to \u2018small things \/ in order of truth\u2019 keeps language on the move in the pulse of unfolding lives, its tendrils extending from humans to plants to planets. This is poetry that makes an important claim for \u2018a rougher garden \/ more undergrowth than \/ bird song\u2019, pushing back against the violence of tamed landscapes to assert multiplicity and openness. A river is running not far off in the distance, under ferns and nettles, and these poems know the best place to get in.
