{"id":7768,"date":"2022-12-01T13:06:25","date_gmt":"2022-12-01T13:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/glasfrynproject.org.uk\/w\/?p=7768"},"modified":"2025-05-13T07:55:59","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T07:55:59","slug":"peter-finch-torrance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/glasfrynproject.org.uk\/w\/7768\/peter-finch-torrance\/","title":{"rendered":"Peter Finch: Torrance"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">To Read the Poem:\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/glasfrynproject.org.uk\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Torrance.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Torrance<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"biobody\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Peter Finch is a poet, writer, performer, walker and literary entrepreneur living in Cardiff.\u00a0 He has been a publisher, organisation manager, periodical editor, event organiser, literary agent and literary promoter.\u00a0\u00a0 He was at the forefront of the UK\u2019s small press revolution in the 60s and the 70s with his magazine <i>Second Aeon <\/i>and pioneered performance poetry in Wales during the 1980s.\u00a0 From 1974 to 1995 he ran the Oriel Bookshop in Cardiff.\u00a0 From 1996 to 2011 he was Chief Executive of Yr Academi Gymreig \/ The Welsh Academy, an organisation which was later rebranded as Literature Wales. He specialises in books about the Capital including the successful <i>Real Cardiff<\/i> series (4 vols \u2013 published by Seren Books), <i>Edging The Estuary<\/i> and the more recent <i>Edging The City <\/i>(Seren Books), and\u00a0 <i>The Roots Of Rock From Cardiff To Mississippi And Back<\/i> (Seren).
