He has written more than forty books, including novels, stories, plays, essays, translations and poetry, and has been widely translated. In 2003 his poetry collection\u00a0<em>L\u2019\u00c9trange langue<\/em>\u00a0was given the prestigious Mallarm\u00e9 poetry award in France, and the same year he also received the French\u00a0<em>Grand Prix d\u2019Automne de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des Gens de Lettres<\/em>, for his entire body of work.\u00a0Many other literary prizes have been awarded to him, including the\u00a0<em>Prix international de la francophonie Benjamin Fondane<\/em>, the European Petrarca prize, the Rutebeuf prize, and the Alain Bosquet prize. In Luxembourg he has twice been given the Servais Award for the best book of the year for two of his novels, and in 2011\u00a0the National Literature Award for his life\u2019s work.\u00a0His books are published in French mainly by PHI (Luxembourg) and Castor Astral (France), as well as in translation in over twenty other countries. He has been working as a translator for more than thirty years, and has published some forty books in translation. He translates from Luxembourgish, German, English, Spanish and Italian into French.\u00a0Since 2006, he is a member of the Acad\u00e9mie Mallarm\u00e9, based in Paris, and member of the\u00a0Institut Grand-Ducal\u00a0in Luxembourg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Zo\u00eb Skoulding<\/strong> is Professor of Poetry and Creative Writing at Bangor University. Her collections of poetry (published by Seren Books) include\u00a0<em>The Mirror Trade<\/em>\u00a0(2004);\u00a0<em>Remains of a Future<\/em>\u00a0City\u00a0(2008), shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year;\u00a0<em>The Museum of Disappearing Sounds\u00a0<\/em>(2013), shortlisted for Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry; and\u00a0<em>Footnotes to Water<\/em>\u00a0(2019), which was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation and won the Wales Book of the Year Poetry Award 2020. In 2020 she also published\u00a0<em>The Celestial Set-Up<\/em>\u00a0(Oystercatcher) and\u00a0<em>A Revolutionary Calendar\u00a0<\/em>(Shearsman). She received the Cholmondeley Award from the Society of Authors in 2018 for her body of work in poetry. Her critical work includes two monographs,\u00a0<em>Contemporary Women\u2019s Poetry and Urban Space: Experimental Cities<\/em>\u00a0(2013), and\u00a0<em>Poetry &amp; Listening: The Noise of Lyric<\/em>\u00a0(2020). Her current\u00a0research project is Transatlantic Translation: Poetry in Circulation and Practice Across Languages (funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, 2020-22), following the network Poetry in Expanded Translation 2017-2018.
